One year older.

This post is a little late, but Arthur turned one! I can’t believe that he is a toddler. The process of becoming his mother still feels so present for me. In some ways, I don’t feel like I know any more about motherhood and parenting than I did when Arthur was first placed in my arms.

A week before Arthur turned one, he took his first steps at his Grandma and Grandpa Cook’s house. He was playing on the floor, standing up by his grandma, and he put on a big smile and walked deliberately toward me, taking a handful of steps across the living room floor. As of yet, he hasn’t gotten too excited about developing his skills. Although today, he started walking more purposefully in between pieces of furniture. It’s so exciting to watch him be so so careful and so so excited as he maintains balance and puts one foot in front of another.

Beautiful Balloon festival, but super early, sleeepy Arthur.
